Justice Archie is a Justice of Appeal, Supreme Court of Trinidad and Tobago. His Honor has been a Judge for the past eight years, having first served on the T&T trial bench from 1998 to 2004 when he was elevated to the Court of Appeal. He previously served as Solicitor General of the Cayman Islands where he acted as Attorney General on several occasions. While in the Cayman Islands he gained extensive experience in asset forfeiture and prosecution of commercial crime and drug trafficking cases. He was one of the first examiners appointed by the Caribbean Finincial Action Task Force to monitor compliance of member countires with regionally and internationally accepted standards in respect of drug trafficaking countermeasures. He is a fellow of the Commonwealth Judicial Education Institute and is currently the Chairman of the Trinidad and Tobago Judicial Education Institute.
Justice Archie is also a graduate in Mechanical Engineering from the University of the West Indies and has a keen interest in computing and information technology. He is Vice-chair of the IT comittee of the T&T Judiciary and Vice Chair of the Monitoring Committee charged with the implementation of new procedural rules and court technology.
